"Old family recipes are more than just instructions for a meal; they're woven with the threads of heritage, carrying within them the flavors of generations past and the stories of those who came before us."
Ingredients:
• sugar | 1/3 cup |
• flour | 2 1/2 cups |
• baking powder | 1 teaspoon |
• canola oil | for frying |
• egg | 1 |
• ricotta cheese | 15 oz (425 g) |
1. In a large bowl, mix 2 cups of flour, sugar, baking powder, ricotta cheese and egg. Mix with hands until soft.
2. Spread flour on a surface. Spread dough atop flour. Roll out the dough to 1 cm thickness. Cut into certain slopes ( square, rectangle, etc)
3. Heat canola oil in a tall frying pan or saucepan. If the oil has reached the desired temperature, bubbles will appear on a wooden spoon dropped into it. Reduce heat (middle level).
4. Place donuts in portions in oil and fry on both sides. Sprinkle the tops of the finished donuts with powdered sugar.
