Hot Tuna Sandwich

The combination of tuna, mayonnaise, and melted cheese brings together textures and flavors that are both rich and satisfying, while baking it in the oven creates a crisp exterior with a warm, gooey center. It's the ideal upgrade for a classic tuna sandwich, elevating it into a dish that's comforting, yet just a bit indulgent.

Ingredients:

 ground black pepper   to taste
 mayonnaise   1-2 tablespoons
 canned tuna   5 oz
 shredded cheese   0.5 cup
 sourdough or whole grain bread   8-12 pieces

1. Preheat the oven to 410°F (210°C).

2. Drain the 5 oz canned tuna and mix it with mayonnaise, ground black pepper, and shredded cheese.

3. Spread the tuna mixture on a slice of bread and top with another slice.

4. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet.

5. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden brown.
