I used ground cashews for a dough and pecan-halfs for decoration because my daughter doesn't eat walnuts... Both versions are delicious but the original one with walnuts. :)
Ingredients:
• sugar | 280 g |
• egg whites | 6 |
• ground walnuts | 280 g |
• complete/full 1/2 walnuts | ~50 |
1. Beat the eggs with a mixer until foamy, add sugar in two steps and beat the eggs until hard peaks.
2. Add the nuts in two additions, gently mixing them into the whites with a silicone spatula in upward motions.
3. Take a baking tray, add baking paper; now take a small spoon and put little piles of the mass on the tray. In the middle of the pile, make a small hole, add a bit of the sugar-egg-whites mass/mix and then put on top half of walnut.
4. Bake at 180C (356F) for about 20 minutes.
