Country toast

This country toast blends rustic bread with cinnamon and sugar for a cozy, sweet twist. Cooking it in oil gives it a crispy outside and fluffy inside, making it perfect for breakfast or a comforting snack!

Ingredients:

 sugar   2 tablespoons
 salt   pinch
 milk   1/2 cup
 eggs   2 large
 powdered sugar   optional for dusting
 oil   for cooking
 country or rustic bread   4 slices
 cinnamon   1 teaspoon
 maple syrup or honey   for serving

1. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.

2. Soak each slice of bread in the egg and milk mixture for about 20-30 seconds per side, allowing the bread to absorb the liquid.

3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.

4. Drizzle with maple syrup or honey, and dust with powdered sugar for extra sweetness.
