Ingredients for 1.8 liters ( 2 qt. ) of Kvass
Ingredients:
• sugar | 9 tablespoons |
• black bread | 2 slices |
• dry cooking yeast | 1 tablespoon |
Steps to execute: 1. Toast bread in oven or grill for 20-30 min. Not burn but near
2. Put bread into glass bottle and pour a boiled water.
3. Wait for 2 hours
4. Get rid of bread and filter the wort to the new glass bottle.
5. Dissolve sugar in warm water (120°F or 50°C) and add to bottle.
6. Dissolve yeast in warm (100°F or 37°C) water and add to bottle.
7. Wait for 12 hours
8. Close the bootle tight
9. Put bottle in refrigerator
10. Kvass is ready in 10 hours
